Awarded annually since 1919 (with a break in 2024), the prizes seek to provide a dazzling platform for modern short story writers at all points in their careers. The winners’ stories are collected and published annually by Anchor Books. WebThe Nebula Awards® year shall begin on January 1 and end on December 31 of the year for which awards will be presented. Nebula Awards® will be made in the following categories: Short Story: less than 7,500 words; Novelette: at least 7,500 words but less than 17,500 words; Novella: at least 17,500 words but less than 40,000 words
