When I read your post I got a little nervous about ruining the axle tubes when I weld on the perches because I am a beginer with the mig. Webb10 apr. 2008 · What you can do is set the perches on the axle. Do not weld yet. Set the axle under the springs and jack it up to put weight on it. Set axle on stands. Then you can use a floor jack to jack up your pinion in order to line up the drive shaft. Tack the perches. Remove the axle and fully weld on your perches. crestview apartments guymon ok

Webb6 maj 2024 · Set the pinion angle, and tack weld the perches. Then pull it out and weld it up solid. I've done a bunch of these and never done anything except drain the differential. It should not catch fire, or go up in smoke. I've also been careful welding the mounts or brackets on, and never warped a tube either. It's the only way to do this correctly.
